Erin Theatre

About Us

Erin Theatre was formed in conjunction with the opening of the theatre facilities at Erin's Centre 2000.   A volunteer operated organization, we have full charitable status and are committed to providing our audience with the highest caliber of live theatre.  We encourage the community to participate in this wonderful form of entertainment; onstage, backstage or filling the seats.

Our previous shows at Erin's Centre 2000 include; Ravenscroft, Arsenic and Old Lace, Ten Little Indians, Rumors, The Mumberley Inheritance, Any Number Can Die, Halloween Screams, Out Of Sight... Out Of Murder, Opening Night, Office Hoursand Stepping Out.

Erin Theatre's production of Steel Magnolias received rave reviews and was adjudicated in the Spring of 2014 by ACTCO.  We received nominations for Best Production, Best Director (Kathryn DeLory), Best Actress (Angela Gibson), Best Set Design (Susanna Lamy) and won the ACTCO Thea Award for Best Ensemble.

Audiences also remember our stunning Calendar Girls in 2013 (please see our website page)... where we took home an armful of ACTCO hardware for our outstanding production.

In 2012 Erin Theatre received accolades for their production of Vino Veritas, A Canadian Premiere by David MacGregor and was nominated for Best Director (Kathryn DeLory) Best Lighting (Jim Steele) and Best Stage Management (Kelly Boudreau) in the Comedy Category at the ACTCO Awards in April 2012.  We previously won Best Ensemble - Comedy Category for our production of Stepping Out at the ACTCO Awards in April 2011.  Our first adjudication by the Association of Community Theatres - Central Ontario.

In order to provide the community with an alternate form of theatre to experience, we began our annual dinner theatre plays.  Written exclusively for Erin Theatre by Susanna Lamy and premiered each holiday season, the shows have garnered rave reviews and a loyal following.  Previous shows include Blossoms of Snow, All That Glitters, The Piper of Grimmgilliedhu, Mystic Holiday, Marry Christmas, Moved by the Spirit, Do You See What I See?, The Art of Believing, Sleight of Mind, ReVisions of Sugar Plums and recently The Great Canadian Caper at the Paul Morin Gallery in Alton.  In the Spring of 2019 we moved to the lovely, refurbished Theatre at The Acton Town Hall Centre with Norm Fosters' Old Love.

Upcoming, Erin Theatre will perform another Norm Foster: The Ladies Foursome in the Fall of 2019 - November 8-10 and 22-24. Performance dates have also already been booked for the Spring of 2020 - April 24 - May 3.
